Powerset, Inc. - 2007-present.
I am currently managing a growing group of computational linguists, semanticists, and tool developers. Our group is responsible for the natural language interpretation and encoding of documents and end-user queries for the Powerset search engine.

WildPackets - 2005-2006.
At WildPackets I consulted on the design of new versions of their flagship product, OmniPeek, to incorporate advanced new features in network baselining, forensics, and anomaly detection.

iFile - In progress.
In my spare time I am working on an innovative desktop information system called iFile that uses a custom database engine for sorting, searching, and organizing information by metadata: data that describes the files, folders, and images on your hard drive. The first release of the system will be optimized for managing images, webpages, and other documents,; future releases will handle cross-referencing email, contacts, and diverse personal information.

Marketocracy.com - 1999-2005.
I co-founded Marketocracy as Chief Technical Officer, and, with my tech team, built a real-time online stock simulation system that supported 50,000 users managing over 60,000 virtual portfolios. With this system Marketocracy was able to find the world's best investors to provide investment advice to our mutual fund managers. Our mutual fund, the Masters 100 Fund, is available at most major brokerages. The Masters 100 Fund was initially distinguished by its extremely low volatility (beta) and superior performance: lower risk than the S&P 500 with greatly improved returns. I served six years on the Marketocracy Board of Directors.
